Why do I need a video?

One of the main regrets a bride has after the event is not having a video. You are right, bang, smack in the middle of the day for the whole day, you cannot appreciate everything that is happening because you a totally caught up in it. Just think of returning from honeymoon, settling down and reliving the whole day again, watching the the smiles and the tears & listening to the laughter. Why just keep the memories to still photos, you are living in a digital age, take advantage of that. I would have loved to have seen a video of my Mum and Dad getting married, will your children think the same? If a picture says a thousand words then how many words does a moving picture say?

How long do you film for?
I usually arrive 2 hours before the guests arrive to film establishing shots etc. and depending on the package you choose I stay until at least 10pm at the reception. I certainly will not leave the reception until I am happy I have captured everything I need.

Will we meet you before the wedding?
Absolutely, I feel it is very important to meet before the day. I want to get a feel for the type of film you want me to create, the more input I receive from you the better. It is also good to run through everything and make sure there are no suprises on the day. I usually contact my clients a few weeks before the day and arrange a suitble time for me to travel to you. Its just nice to put a name to a face so when the day comes we are both relaxed and comfortable around each other. I want you to see me more as a guest with a video camera rather than a faceless video company.

When can we expect the DVD?
A lot of work goes into producing a finished DVD, the editing will take approx 50 hours add to that DVD authoring and artwork. Anything from 4 to 10 weeks depending on time of season. It will never be rushed, memories that last a lifetime are worth the wait.

So why not just get Uncle Peter to do it?
Would you trust your auntie with making your dress or another relative baking your cake?  To produce a wedding film takes good equipment and good technique, you have spend months co-ordinating this day someone 'having a go' will never do the day justice and you will regret that, trust me.

We don’t want you to be obtrusive, what is your style?
Modern camera’s with telephoto lenses mean that you can shoot good footage without the need to be up close and personal, my style is discreet an unobtrusive, occasionaly I may need to get in amongst the action because it is important to mix the shots up otherwise you will end up with a stale video which will not capture the feeling of the day. I film what I see and do not create or direct scenes. I use a range of sensible and sensitive angles as needed.

How long will the finished DVD be?
I try and keep them between 60 & 90mins. This depends on the type of ceremony and length of speeches.

Who will film our Wedding?
I will be filming the wedding, I never contract work out. More and more companies are sub-contracting work out to freelance videographers & students over the busy summer months. I am not willing to take the chance of having my reputation ruined by someone else so I take 1 booking on any given day and that is that. This is your guarantee that what you expect will be delivered.

Do you require a meal at our reception?
No, there is no need for this, it’s nice for me to catch my breath and take time out when the meal is served.

Can I choose my own songs?
Yes, you can fill out the pre-production form on-line and list any songs you would like included. Sometimes the main problem is deciding which songs to have click here for some advice

How do I book you?
The easiest way is to click the 'request an information pack' link from the contact me page, this contains a booking form along with a demo DVD which will give you flavour of my filming style. Just fill out the booking form and return it to me along with the £150 deposit. You can always contact me on 0845 2416957 if you have any questions.

Were are you based?
I am based in Hoylake on the Wirral and cover the whole of the North West (and beyond!!)

When is the final payment due to you?
The balance of the payment is due 2 weeks before the wedding. You will receive an automated email reminding you.
